KRISTA MORDEN
Krista Morden, B.Sc., BMR (RT) is the Co-Founder of the H2O Academy. She is a Competition Development Coach with the National Coaching Certification Program with over twenty years of aquatic experience. In 2018, Krista along with Co-founder Kaley Maksymyk won 2018 Woman Entrepreneur of the Year. In 2017, she was invited to speak about H2O Academy’s innovative approach to teaching swimming at the International Physical Literacy Conference. In 2010, she was appointed as Synchro Swim Manitoba's Team Assistant Coach and Manager for the 2011 Canada Winter Games team alongside High Performance Coach and Co-founder Kaley Maksymyk under the mentorship of former Olympic Coach Leslie Sproule. In 2012, she was appointed Synchro Swim Manitoba's High-Performance Coach and helped develop various training programs within the province. As a former elite athlete for the province of Manitoba and Alberta she competed all over the country and attended several international training camps and has 2 silver medal finishes at the Canadian National Championships. She has been involved with Synchro Swim Manitoba as an official and volunteer. Krista completed her Bachelor of Medical Rehabilitation in Respiratory Therapy from University of Manitoba in 2007. She worked as a Registered Respiratory Therapist at St. Boniface General Hospital where she specialized in cardiac, surgical, and neonatal intensive care for nearly a decade. In 2008, she completed her second degree, a Bachelor of Science from the University of Manitoba. She has competed in the Royal Lake of the Woods Yacht Club annual three Island swim where her and Kaley are 3-time relay champs. She is a certified PADI advanced diver and enjoys going on diving vacations, especially when she can swim with sharks!
