Winter Term Update

Updated: Mar 10, 2021

Good news first: our new facility construction is on time and our facility will be done by the end of December!⁣ And now the bad news... we will not be offering a 12-week winter term due to COVID-19...

Our 2021 Winter Term Schedule is LIVE. On November 6th, 2020 the Winnipeg Metropolitan Region reached CRITICAL Red. These public health orders have been extended until at least January 8th, 2021.

Since remote learning ends on January 15th, 2021, we are using this date to create our H2O game plan for the winter term during this time of uncertainty. We have developed plans based on the following 3 scenarios which will allow us the time it takes to be fully prepared to provide a safe swimming experience:

  1. If Code Red ends on or before January 15th, 2021 - we will re-open on February 2nd, 2021 and run a shortened 9-week Winter Term.

  2. If Code Red ends on or before February 8th, 2021 - we will re-open on February 23rd, 2021 and run a shortened 6-week Winter Term.

  3. If Code Red extends beyond February 8th, 2021 - Winter Term will be cancelled and all classes will be transferred to the 2021 Spring Term which will start on Tuesday, April 6th, 2021.

Please note that all options are subject to change if the Government orders include lower capacity restrictions or they introduce new restrictions that we need to prepare for. Once the Government of Manitoba updates their restrictions, we will provide more information and an update to families.

2020 has been an extremely difficult year for us as business owners. After working so hard on our new facility, we are devastated that the pool will be ready to go but will remain closed until the Government allows us to open. We will continue to make the best of this situation and try to turn these lemons into lemonade... stay tuned for updates. ⁣

We miss everyone and think of our staff, families, friends, and supporters often. We hope everyone will follow all of the public health orders this holiday season so we can return to some kind of normal in 2021. We’re all in this together.
