MISS maxine
Hi! My name is Maxine. I’m 19 years old, a student athlete at the University of Manitoba, am Francophone and a proud Métis. Since the age of 11, competitive swimming has been an integral part of my life. Through the sport that I love, I have learned the value of teamwork, communication, strong leadership, team spirit and sportsmanship. A favourite moment of my swimming career was winning the gold medal in the 50m backstroke as a part of Team Manitoba at the 2017 North American Indigenous Games (NAIG). I will also be an apprentice coach for NAIG 2023!
As a teacher at H2O Academy, I have been fortunate to share my passion for swimming as a sport and essential life skill. I strive to be a positive role model for all of my students and indigenous youth. I love seeing my students confident in the water and can’t wait to see everyone at the pool!
