Sarah is a teacher at the H2O Academy. She has over 10 years of experience Lifeguarding and teaching swimming lessons for various facilities and programs. She is a certified National Lifeguard, Lifesaving and First Aid Instructor, National Lifeguard Instructor, and Instructor Trainer. She has spent over 10 years working for the YMCA/YWCA of Winnipeg as a Lifeguard, Swim Instructor, Lifeguard Instructor and Trainer, Lifesaving and First Aid Instructor, YMCA Swim Instructor Trainer, 1 year as the Lifeguard Coordinator at the South Branch and 3 years as the Aquatics Director at the Downtown Branch. She has spent a year as the Water/WinterSmart® co-ordinator for the Lifesaving Society where she was responsible for organizing and coaching staff. She also taught First Aid Courses, B.O.A.T courses, lakefront and pool Swim to Survive courses, Swim for Life Swimming lessons, WaterSmart® & WinterSmart® Safety and Drowning Prevention presentations in Northern Manitoba as well as for English as Additional Language classes, and other various groups in Winnipeg. She continues to volunteer and teach First Aid for the Lifesaving Society.  Sarah is a well-known leader in the lifeguarding world and is a standing member of the Canadian National Drowning Prevention Commission and has helped develop many drowning prevention initiatives. She has dedicated her career to educating and teaching people of all ages how to swim, as well as developing and training current and future Lifeguards. Sarah has competed in The Manitoba Provincial Lifeguarding Championships since 2007. In 2012 and 2015 Sarah and her team were Provincial Champions. She has also competed in Canadian Lifesaving Emergency Response Championships in Winnipeg Manitoba, Thunder Bay Ontario, Gatineau Quebec, and Surrey British Columbia. Outside the pool Sarah is a Mom to her son Calvin and daughter Evie. She enjoys family nights with her kids and husband, Stephen. She enjoys staying physically active by swimming, taking OTF classes, and family bike rides in the summer. Sarah is fluent in both English and French and can speak some German. She enjoys traveling and summers in the sun with friends and family.
