Sarah is a teacher at the H2O Academy. She has over 10 years of experience Lifeguarding and Teaching swimming lessons for various facilities and programs. She is a certified National Lifeguard, Lifesaving Instructor, National Lifeguard Instructor, Instructor Trainer, Occupational Aquatic Safety Instructor, and Supervision Evaluation and Enhancement Auditor. She has spent a year as the Water/WinterSmart® co-ordinator for the Lifesaving Society, organizing, coaching staff, and teaching First Aid Courses, B.O.A.T courses, lakefront and pool Swim to Survive and Swim for Life Swimming lessons, WaterSmart® & WinterSmart® Safety and drowning prevention presentations in Northern Manitoba as well as for English as Additional Language classes, and other various groups in Winnipeg. She has also spent a year as a Lifeguard Coordinator, and is currently an Aquatic Director full time. She had dedicated her career to educating and teaching people of all ages how to swim, as well as developing and training current and future Lifeguards. Sarah has competed in The Manitoba Provincial Lifeguarding Championships for 8 years. In 2012 and 2015 Sarah and her team were Provincial Champions. She has also competed in Canadian Lifesaving Emergency Response Championships in Winnipeg Manitoba, Thunder Bay Ontario, Gatineau Quebec, and will be competing in Surrey British Columbia, April 2016. She is Manitoba’s Athlete representative for Manitoba for the sport of Lifesaving. She enjoys staying physically active by swimming, doing yoga, and taking her three legged German Shepherd/Ridgeback dog named Trip, for walks and runs. Her most recent challenge has been swimming a minimum of 1.6 miles five times a week. Sarah is fluent in both English and French and can speak some German. She enjoys traveling and summers in the sun. Sarah is expecting her first child July 11th, 2016. Her and her husband, Stephen, are beyond excited to welcome their baby boy into the world.
