CHANGES TO PUBLIC HEALTH ORDERS EFFECTIVE WEDNESDAY, APRIL 28, 2021

In the province's new COVID-19 Prevention Orders under The Public Health Act, there are no changes to our current operations. Orders 14 & 27 apply to us. Here are a few updates to note:

  • We spoke with Public Health yesterday and there have been NO spreading events or cases connected to the H2O Academy. We are immensely proud of our staff and families for following the fundamentals. ⁣

  • Public Health deemed H2O lessons as a low-risk activity due to our class structure and teaching style. According to the CDC, there is no evidence that COVID-19 can be spread to people through water in a pool if the facility properly disinfects the water as chlorine inactivates viruses. Our water has been perfectly disinfected since our grand opening and we’ve invested in an additional UV disinfection system to ensure safe water. ⁣

  • The government’s 25% capacity restriction is related to building capacity, not class size. We worked closely with the government on developing our schedule and are in compliance with these rules. We are not required to reduce class sizes if distancing can occur if we're following capacity restrictions. It’s human nature to be close, but please remember to keep your distance. ⁣

  • Our staff sanitize high-touch surfaces every 2 hours as per Government of Manitoba COVID-19 rules. We have also hired a resident Custodian in addition to professional cleaning services. ⁣

We have been following all public health prevention orders that have been placed on us by the government to keep everyone safe. With that said, we understand that COVID-19 is serious and if you don’t feel comfortable attending classes, please email us and we will provide you with a credit that never expires. We will continue to closely monitor the COVID-19 situation in Manitoba to determine future impacts.
