Jaclyn Whitehill is a teacher at the H2O Academy. She loved swimming at a very early age, and breezed through swimming lessons before finally choosing to join the synchronized swimming. Sonja swam competitively with Winnipeg Synchro for 6 years, winning 5 consecutive provincial championships and made it to the podium at several Western championships for duet and team events. She took her passion from the pool to the Winnipeg Synchro coaching team where she was assistant coach in the recreational stream for 1 year before being offered an opportunity to coach a recreational team of her own for a couple more years. Sonja ended her career at Winnipeg Synchro to focus on her studies, but she never lost her competitive drive and love for aquatics! Many of her favourite past times include spending hot summer afternoons at the lake surfing, waterskiing and tubing with friends. She graduated university from the Asper School of Business and has focused on a career in employee/labour relations at the WRHA. She aspires to live a healthy, balanced and active life style. When she is not at work or the pool, you will find her planning her next vacation, relaxing at the lake, at hot yoga practice, finding the next “escape room” to escape, or cuddling her rescue dog Kona.
